Eligible Overseas Voters

Korean citizens aged 18 or older have the right to vote for the President and members of the National Assembly.


The elections in which overseas Koreans can exercise their right to vote are as follows:

Whose residence is registered (except for those whose residence is registered and managed as a Korean national residing abroad

- National Assembly Elections for Proportional Representation/Constituency Members (Held at the Expiration of the Terms of Office)


If a permanent resident who is registered as an overseas Korean wishes to vote overseas, he or she must report as an overseas absentee.


Voting for by-elections for members of the National Assembly, local elections, national referendums, and resident referendums is not conducted overseas.
